He worked for 13 years at Desiring God leading the web department, serving as director of strategy, and helping build the ministry for greater spreading. With an M.Div. from Southern Seminary and experience consulting with churches and organizations, Matt started What’s Best Next to equip Christians theologically and practically.

Dr. Alison Perman is a consultant, executive coach, and adjunct professor. She partners with organizations to develop managers, leaders, and teams using cutting edge research and practices from her work with Columbia University. Alison enjoys designing and delivering leadership development programs and training internal subject matter experts how to coach and train their teams. She travels to New York City regularly to teach, meet with clients and spend time with family.
Alison loves being outside, active, rollerblading, jogging, playing guitar, singing and painting! Above all, Alison seeks to glorify the Lord in all she does. Alison is married to Matt Perman and they live in Kansas City, Missouri.
James loves helping individuals and organizations be more effective. Previously serving as Crossway’s Executive Director of Marketing & Communications, he was responsible for product marketing and communications, leading campaigns for 100+ projects each year and all marketing initiatives for the ESV Bible.
James is the Founder of the Useful Group, a team of creative professionals providing strategy and solutions for missions that matter. The Useful Group specializes in marketing, content, and publishing support for businesses, nonprofits, churches, authors, and other important causes. With a BA in Biblical Studies & Theology, he is finishing up an MBA with a concentration in Leadership.
